Blazing is a twisted bildungsroman, with dramatic and comic elements: the young protagonist is unwilling to accept what the rural industrial town’s society can offer or its expectations, therefore he isolates himself and revolts by taking his own path, leading to risky and illegal situations.
Balazs Dudas’s first feature was conceived when he was sitting in police detention and had to decide between two choices: he pulls himself together and becomes an artist or he will be finally lost in crime and schemes.
